Truth Sessions (and the most significant lesson that I learned this past season)

November 2, 2016

reallife-day-2If you want to hear something honest, I’d tell you that less than two months ago, I was ready to drop portrait sessions entirely. Then along came Lexie. She was down to shoot at a nearby location, but she jumped on the vision for something bigger without any convincing. She blessed me with her trust, honored me with her willingness to go the distance for her photos, and blew me away with her kindness. I realized that I had been photographing solo portraits without the same level excitement that I photographed couples. When the outlook shifted from “Another portrait session” to “Oh my goodness, I get the opportunity to speak truth into one life and pursue what I believe in as a priority,” everything changed. As a result of this session, one that I thought would be my final, I gained insight on how I want to shoot down the road. Starting in 2017, solo portrait and senior portrait sessions will be dubbed, ‘Truth Sessions’. Lexie’s session was the springboard. Next season will encompass so much more, starting with prayer. I’m a huge believer that God wants us to pull the gold out of one another, and one of the best ways to do this is to start in a quiet place of getting to know the Lord’s heart for others. Always refreshing, always encouraging.

Here’s to something that I am dedicated to stick with, and excited to pursue. If you’d like to join in on this experience, we’ll be kicking it off with ten limited sessions from January through September of the upcoming year. 2017, we’re ready for ya.
Booking will begin at $400, digitals and products purchased separately.
